French artist Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec came from an eccentric, aristocratic family. He broke both his legs in separate childhood accidents, leaving him deformed, and the object of frequent ridicule. Unfortunately, he also became an alcoholic, and died at the age of 37. His popular paintings and posters command high prices at auctions and art sales.
